	Provides education for children with visual impairments in Bhutan and was established in 1973 under the Ministry of Education. Classes from PP to VI are conducted within the NID campus, and classes VII to XII in nearby lower and higher secondary schools with support from the NID. NID pays a nominal TA (Travel Allowance) and DA (Daily Allowance) to parents to enable them to accompany their children to and from the institute. The institute may help students find employment where possible.
