* Applicants must submit their Registration Form by the deadline.
Countries Invited & Participants Maximum of 30 participants
Target Group - Architects, engineers, urban planners, public transport planners
- Government officials or non-government personnel concerned with disability issues
- Representatives of self-help organizations of persons with disabilities
* Priority: a person with a disability, members/ staff of APCD Focal Points and Associate Organizations in Asia-Pacific Countries
Course Objectives

-To train people of the above target group to be trainers/ promoters/resource persons concerning a non-handicapping environment, universal design and a barrier-free society in their respective countries.

-To link the training participants such as professionals on architecture, government officials, disabled leaders, etc. and network them to promote a non-handicapping environment in their respective countries as well as in the Asia-Pacific region.

Expenses & Allowances

The following expenses for each selected participant will be borne by APCD:

  1. Training expenses (e.g., lecture fee, field visit charge)
  2. Accommodation during the training period
  3. Meals
  4. Transportation fee (from Airport to APCD)

The following expenses will be responsible by selected participant

  1. Transportation Fee (Air ticket) from his/ her country to Thailand (Roundtrip)
  2. Any expenses spent in his/ her country;
    • VISA fee
    • Passport fee
    • Airport tax

Lectures, discussions and field work concerned following issues;

  1. Biwako Millennium Framework concerning accessibility
  2. Concept and definitions: non-handicapping environment, barrier-free society and universal design
  3. Internal environment and design considerations
  4. External environment and design considerations
  5. Function of access features
  6. Accessible public transport facilities and services
